Dan Kingston was born in Detroit, Michigan.

Upon graduation from high school, he was awarded an art scholarship to the prestigious Society of Arts and Crafts in Detroit, Michigan.

Dan has spent his entire life in art, either commercial graphic design or fine art.

While traveling in Europe, a visit to the Louve, viewing the works of Sargent, Michelangelo, and Rodin made a lasting impression on him.

In 1959, he moved to Los Angeles, California. As a student at the Art Center College of Design and the Choinard Art Institute he continued his formal art studies.

For thirty years he was an award winning art/advertising director at a major Los Angeles Corporation. And is now an award winning oil painter.

In the early nineteen nineties, while at a Mountain Masters Art Exhibit in Lake Arrowhead, California he met Vic Riesau, a master painter and sculptor.
Discovering oil painting and sculpting with a master teacher to mentor him has been both exciting and challenging.

For many years Dan was a member of the Los Angeles Art Directors Club and is presently a member of the renown California Art Club.
